What does a doula provide?
A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period. They empower parents to make informed choices and enhance their birth and parenting experiences.
I am not sure if I want a doula, can we talk?
Yes! I would love to have an introduction meeting where I will hopefully be able to answer all your questions.
What does a Doula not do, or what am I not?
I am not medically trained, and I do not give you my personal opinion. I do not Carry out any midwifery tasks such as vaginal exams or monitoring the baby’s heart tone. I do not make decisions on behalf of my clients, pressure or try to convince my clients to do what I consider to be the best thing. I do not take over the partner’s role but instead offer support to them too.
What does a typical birth package look like?
The basic pregnancy and birth package includes 1-2 X2 hours prenatal meetings, 24X7 on-call availability for birth from week 38 onwards, and 1 postnatal session. The package can be customized according to your needs and wishes.
